Christopher D. Wood, Esq., PhD

Christopher (Chris) has a B.S. with honors in Microbiology from the University of Wales, a M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Central Lancashire, a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow, and a J.D. from the DePaul Law School. Before joining Wood & Eisenberg, Chris worked as an Attorney and Technical Assistant for several law firms.

Chris has prepared or prosecuted over 100 patent applications in a variety of technical areas, including pharmaceutical, immunology, industrial, tissue culture, surgical devices, microbiological, downstream processing, chemical, biochemical, bioinformatics, agro biotechnology, telecommunications, wireless communication protocols, software and mechanical.

Chris is an expert in handling DNA and amino acid sequences. Chris has worked on patent projects for several Fortune 100 Companies including: ADM, Abbott, MERCK; and not-for-profit organizations including Scripps Clinic while working for top rated law firms.

Chris is admitted to the Illinois and U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, American Chemical Society (ACS), and Phi Delta Phi, and is a recipient of the CALI Award for Legal Drafting.

Daniel J. Eisenberg, Esq.

Dan studied Computer Science at Hofstra University, has a B.B.A. in Finance from Mercer University, and a J.D. from Syracuse University. Before joining Wood & Eisenberg, Dan worked as an Attorney for an Intellectual Property law firm in the Washington D.C. area, drafting patent, trademark and copyright applications. In the patent area, Dan specializes in mechanical, Internet, and business method applications.

In addition, Dan has worked as a defense litigator in New York representing national companies such as Airborne Express, and was an officer in the Unites States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Dan is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the New York State Bar.

Michael J. Foycik, Jr. Esq. (Of Counsel)

Mike has a B.S.E. in Engineering from Youngstown State University where he recieved the highest grade point average in his engineering section.  Mike has a J.D. degree in Law from George Washington University.  Mike is a former Patent Examiner in the electrical and mechanical areas of Group 33.  As an Examiner Mike received annual Achievement Awards.  After working at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Mike went to work for some of the most premier law firms in the country including: Fisher, Christen & Sabol; Holman & Stern; Spencer, Frank & Schneider; and Armstrong, Westerman, Hattori, McLeland & Naughton. 

Mike is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Patent Bar, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
Federal Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Our office is conveniently located next to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This allows us to serve you more quickly and efficiently than other offices.

We are also able to conduct our searches at the USPTO where we have access to all of the most up-to-date patent and trademark documents available to Patent and Trademark Examiners.

We are also able to conduct face-to-face interviews with Examiners, a significant advantage over other offices.
